Tips for Beginning Shredders

There are many things that beginning snowboarders need to consider before shreddin’ on the slopes.

  • Always put your snowboard outside for at least 10 minutes prior to riding to let the wax cool down.  If you don’t do that and you try to ride on it after it has been sitting inside the snow will stick to the bottom and a huge sheet of ice will develop.  This makes the snowboard ride super slow or make it impossible to ride.

  • Don’t leave your snowboard alone for too long because people like to take things that aren’t theirs.

  • The snowboard length should be anywhere from the snowboarder’s chin to their nose if the snowboard is standing on its tail.  The shorter the snowboard, the more control the rider has over it.
